The 'Lifestyle'

For a shitty city life I follow certain set of rules to get me through.... without spending much of my peace .

Firstly things I dont like about city life and people:

• Traffic
• Undue importance to money
• Time is always running too fast for everyone
  
• Everyone has very volatile goals , and people are trained to 'Chase time' to achieve these
• People are so contradicting in their own intellectual pursuits , they dont know where they are running and why, but thats what they want.
  

Rule 1:

Dont care about stupid drivers on the road, just put on good music and concentrate on that only.
This rule is like a tonic for long drives, else i would feel completely tired.

Rule 2:

World is full of irrational people and its not my job to turn them.

This develops a sense of patience in the work place and around, really making it easy to tolerate those fools.

Rule 3:

In city money spent less than 500 and greater than 100 is equivalent, dont worry too much about the money.

I didnt follow this rule in my college life, but now sometimes arguing for some money is worth more peace points than the money itself.


Rule 4:

Your mood changes only because of your own perception.

Now, I dont spoil my mood for anything, I try to master my own mood at my own will.


Rule 5:

Everyday you are supposed to meet a person, who is sent by GOD to test your patience.Dont fail this test.

Rule 6:

Dont make a big deal out of work , deadlines , taxes , economy and blah blah
All these things just make you a slave of your desires and train you to chase time.

Rule 7:
Everyday , no matter what, follow your creative side.

Know your creative side, listen to it and follow .This is the most satisfying thing of all.



Rule 8:

Finally , the best thing to do is wake up early, and find your centre of gravity while watching sunrise.

Sunrise is the time when city is at peace and spending this time will prove to be a boost for your peace of mind.


Most importantly:

Following something you read is stupidity,
believe everything. you do.

Has Science slowed down evolution?

While watching Evolution of snakes on Discovery channel, I couldnt help wonder, has science slowed down evolution of man?

I mean obviously we cant think that we are at the end of evolutionary history and there cant be any superior species.
We evoluted to our current form ,since we needed to adapt to the situations presented in front of us by mother nature.
Like snakes lived underwater and came up to land in search of food, evoluted to leave behind legs then so on!

So, environment and habitat triggers evolution but we are trying to evolve our environment and habitat rather than adapting to it!

Who knows?If we tried to adapt to that we could run 100 times faster ,3 times taller etc.

But then again question is,
What do we prefer? Evolution of mind and soul or evolution of body?

It seems that there is a trade off between these two and we chose "Evolution of mind"

How College ends?

Finally the day came and my college ended ,
At first I did not think that it will make much difference to me.

But when it actually happened , it made me really sad and hopeless.
I thought that I am going to enter a world where,

You cant bunk what you don’t want to do
Where you can’t just spend two hours on a table and ordering nothing.
Where you cant give anyone birthday bumps.
Where you cant blame your poor performance on teacher.
Where you cant cover up 6 months in one day.
Where you cant always do what you want to do.
Where you cant spend nights on rooftop and get late next day.
Where your life runs between weekdays and weekends
Where you keep counting days of month and holidays in month.
Where you cant just go for movie when you want to.


When I got placed I was very happy, I thought that professionally I have achieved what I wanted.
It is true but is it really something which makes me happy?
Not sure…..
I will be most happy if I can get on more life only at college,
I want to be born in college with my friends and die there with same fun and connection as it has been in these four years.

Right now…
my pay slip, my company and nothing is really mattering…
only my 4 years of earnings is, that is my friends

Cheers to all my friends and foes to make my college life as it was.

The Saviors

I was roaming around at CP on sunday.Since its sale time it was open and had quite nice crowd.

I was just walking by and I saw an elderly man selling "Car hangings"( the ones that make sound and look like fluffy toys).
That guy could barely stand or walk,but still he was out there to make money.

I asked myself why would anybody of his age ,in such a condition would roam around to sell stuff.
I was stepping forward to help him, but I was late.

I saw a couple out on their date sitting on a bench,called him.
Couple seemed to be college students.

The guy stood up and made the old seller sit down,
Guy went out to get change for a 1000 (i guess).

And the gal started talking to him,
I didnt go to hear them talk but I could make out what was happening.

The gal talked him through with whatever he was going through as if he was his friend.
They talked atleast till 15mins, then guy came back with cash in his hand and they bought a bunch of those and paid him some money.I dont know what they paid him.

But,here money isnt important.
We generally pay money to help people,but what we dont is ...

Make them sit.
And Talk.
That too in the middle of a beautiful evening with your partner.

I really respect those two.
They really deserve best in life.

Placements?....Really?

Now after two months of work as placement coordinator....
I have reached a saturation of frustration....

Its not just the T&P that sucks but many things in Corporate world suck.

Chapter 1 Adobe:
Adobe is a company which is has supposedly blacklisted DCE.
along with ST Micro,Microsoft and schlum.

All other companies have started visting DCE except Adobe.

We really tried hard to work it out.
Called their HR for like 17 times a day.
He never came on the phone.

We kept calling him, mailing him reminders etc etc.

Then finally we got hold of our HOD on this and he agreed to "let us use his mail"
We mailed the HR a reminder,
That guy turned down the direct invitation from HOD.

Next day they visited NSIT.

We contacted their Bangalore office sometime back.
Their HR was really happy on getting an invitation from DCE,
We mailed him the invitation.

He said that we will soon hear from their noida office,
This clearly proves that none of the managing team was informed about the invitation from DCE.
They had absolutely no reason of not visiting DCE.
Nobody else in adobe knew that our invitation has been turned down.

Their HR has something personal against DCE.

Chapter 2 Amazon:
Amazon showed good interest in NSIT and very less in DCE from first day itself.
All was due to poor performance of our seniors.
Still they took one intern from our batch.

They informed that they will come.
Suddenly they decided to go with interns.

They scrapped DCE off their list.
Dont know whether NSIT is on their list or not.

After that they called me twice to apologies of not visiting DCE.
They even sent a long regret letter to HOD.
Atleast they showed some professionalism unlike adobe.
But,whatever is the case we really missed another company.

Chapter 3:Realization
Adobe took only 2 ppl 1 from coe and 1 from it at NSIT.
Amazon also said that that it has very less requirement.

We realized the sadest part of our placement season.
"Courtesy Visits"
This is a phenomenon when company just to maintain its goodwill and its relationship with college visits a campus just for the sake of it.

Chapter 4:IOCL
IOCL was a great work from our side,first time in history of iocl 4 braches were open.
Although it was lot that took from us to make it happen.

Chapter 5:Maruti
Most unprofessional of the lot.
Their Assistant HR was so whined up with DCE,
He abused our college and us too.
Their GM,HR's daughter got admission in the BT at DCE.

Their Assistant HR, literally suggested us to kiss ass of GM,HR on the day of her daughter's counseling.
They forced us to talk about her hostel and all.

On the day of visit too he kept kicking our asses about college.
Reason behind all this crap:
Assistant HR's daughter is in NSIT.

Chapter 6:TCE
After downturn in IT its the era of core companies.
TCE consulting engineers also behaved unprofessionally.
They took two days to select just 4 students that too in A grade job.

They opened quite a lot of branches initially.
After accepting applications right before PPT.
They closed down Enviromental Engineering.

On the next day they told us the time as 10 am
and came at 11:30
They told us that they will declare result by that day.
But result was told by 7pm next day.

Chapter 7:BHEL
We were so happy to see BHEL as 7 branches open.
6lpa etc etc.
We were so happy.
We arranged everything for them at campus visit scheduled on 11Aug.

The guy called on 10th afternoon.
and said things in points :

• we will conduct interviews off campus.
• we will not require coe/it.

No further discussion,after that we tried to approach him through our HOD.
HOD said "if you can"
and he said "no we can't"
on all things,
HOD did not say anything about accepted applications and brightness of students.
Their academic profile nothing.


Epilogue T&P staff:
The day we got elected we got warning from our senior PC's that t&P staff will fuck your ass, and wont let you work.

No batch till now have faced this much bad times,so no body was harmed by the adverse conditions of DCE t&p

there are mainly two characters in the staff:Oldy and Jat and a Biggie.

Biggie:
Erratic,least concerned, apathetic towards the placements.
Told on our second meeting with him,that
"This work is secondary my PhD students are my first priority."
Hard to find,
Hard to call,
difficult to bear with his EGO.
Has all the responsibility of T&P.

Jaat:
ettiqutteless,mannerless but behaves oppositely in front of girls.
Downloads porn and movies using t&p broadband.
uses phone at our peak time just to not let us call.
kicks us out at 4.
Does a job of a security guard rather than stano.
Threatened me of hitting.
Delibrately fights with us to get us fired by the biggie.
Gets support of the oldy in the process.


Oldy:
Totally etiqutteless ,smokes bidi all the time.
sleeps and drinks(alcohol) in the break.
Fights with us over water and food.
Debarred us from eating with the company HR's on their request.
Eats all the food and offers it to all gurads,sweepers,electricians etc.
Denied "sarkari" companies sweets.
We had to approach biggie to solve the matter and arrange the proper luch for companies.

Life is a big Trade off...

Its a quite known funda to us that everything in nature has its trade-offs.
But we know this funda for physical things not in life.

Well,in most of the people's life we trade off good things at every point.
Some trade off money for time and time for money,
example, taking auto to college for being on time and for saving 25 rs on RTV.
well this is trivial though.

But some trade off's are quite opposite, like trade off between dignity and survival.
Yes, prostitutes do this for survival of their children, its a trade off.

Trade off between culture and fashion(in India).
between love and sex(atleast guys do this)
between reality and dreams.
Think about it,Havent you ever dumped your dream just because something real didnt happen right.

There is a trade off between friends and success also.
Its a famous saying that success brings many enemies(some times these are ex friends)

Trade off between popularity and autonomy.
Autonomy leads to dictatorship,and dictators are never popular

Trade off between respect and innocence.
Sometimes in life true innocence of heart can take respect out of you.

Trade off between death and health.
Trade off between focus and enjoyment.
Well,this one is somewhat arbit but its quite deep,if you start enjoying yourself just before exams or anything you will definitely loose focus.

Trade off between beauty and age.
trade off between Loss and Confidence

Actually whole of life is a trade off between
somethings, but biggest trade off in life is

between
heart and mind,
this is trade off which decides an individual personality and his life.

So play your cards right ,life is nothing but a big trade off.

World around us-real delhi

Recently,My family faced a crisis that our loved nanaji went missing.
He is still not found but...

For this reason I had to go to parts of delhi where I saw some harsh realities.

Poverty is not something which is not known but the impact of drugs and alcohol on poor,is unknown.

Eversince I thought that alcohol and drugs are just one reason for the existence of poor people,but I guess i was wrong ,its the only reason.

Places I went, I saw families living in jhuggi with only a 'dead crow' to eat and bunch of wood to cook.
But then by the side lies a man drunk or stoned .
Men in family could afford narco but not food.

Children were crying all around,some of them did not even had clothes but their fathers were enjoying the trip.

Women who spoke loud, were beaten to blood (trust me all this happened in front of me).
We talk about feminism and Gandhi and social reform etc etc. but all this comes down to one place jhuggi where none of these exist.

We know that in our metro life we have all the social cultures well organized but what about the world around us-the real delhi or real city.
Even the villages are not as bad as these places.

Now, some of you may say that government must be doing something.But actually,these places run the politics.
Maximum voting percentage is from here,so my dear people government is run by them so why would government try to remove their bank.

And we have already seen in "PAGE3" how social organization sell out children and women .so we cant even trust them.

Now where is the solution?
Its a golden question that you ask yourself everytime you see some poor begging or lying drunk or stoned.

Or just walk away like you have done till now.

Very first Rejection....

As many of my friends have already tasted the bitter taste of rejection in the recruitment process I would like share my experience with them ...

Well,at first we all are very enthusiastic about the interview/test We look forward to it just as we were sure of cracking JEE and entering IIT.

We are confident and cool about the process and selection.
Suddenly lightning strikes and we are stamped on the forhead "REJECTED"

after this stamp your whole world changes quickly and for few hours/days.

For this very little period you are left on same turn as you were when JEE results didnt meet your expectations.

You suddenly think which you never thought in the past few years...
I am incapable...
I am fucked
what are my parents gonna think...
Do i have a good future...

and history repeats itself...
and for few more days your confidence about your college and yourself is deterred

You are now feeling the same butterflies as you did and again and again...

So after making it to DCE its our first reality check after all the glory and dream ..
that our parents and relatives gave us...

and this reality is hard and Bitter so ...

All I have to say is that after thinking this much and writing this post I have realised that its just the "very first Rejection"...
and there are many to come .....

and finallly history repeats itself....
we get a break just as in the history ...
and eventually all the hard times are washed away

Women rule the world...

First thing is that I havent read "men are from mars and women are from venus".If there is any similarity then think of it as John Gray and I had a common great great great grandfather.

There are many people who support femminism and many are on the other side of the world,but actually there is nothing like femminism.Everything that we do is actually guided by women.
Men are actually fools trying make a statement everywhere they go .Reason for them to be such "I am the boss" is their male ego.

Now,let us see what exactly is the MALE EGO well male ego is nothing but a reaction of Female attraction(stop for moment and think deep ,its true).Just because he is attracted towards she,he needs "to prove himself","Be the man" etc. etc.

Well this is somewhat hard to understand that attraction results in ego not submission.This is what leads to the fact that men are fools.This is the reason why some crushes dont turn into relationships.

Men actually have no ego,no self,More than 99% of male species is under influnce of some emotion.Source of which is offcourse some female.

Now lets ask some questions to yourself..

Why you wanna be successful?

Why you wanna have a good image?

Why do you wanna look good?


Well questions above include all the three major parts of anyones life

Q1->>career,Q2->>social life,Q3->>health

Pretty much everything is derviative of these three.And in a mans life

Success ->Money->Good life->Happy family->happy wife.

good image->good social life->popularity->girls like you

good looks->girls like you

well all the three chains of dependacies end on some female .
Now if we disturb(unhappy) the last one then all your success,social life,looks is flown away in flood.

So,it is clear that all the men are guided by some females .
I think "I proved my point".

What should "Teach India" do.....

Friends you all know about Times initiative Teach India.
This post is not a criticism, I completely support it and its a great step with good intentions.
Teach India will involve a lot of people and is very popular already.

But,where it lacks its aim is in approach to the poor children.I mean,we are approaching these children to teach and make them literate.But,literacy is not enough to make our country developed,we need education.

Education is not imparted by learning to count or write name,but by being socially acceptable and beneficial.This can and will, only be achieved by going to schools.

What teach India not doing is, making these children go to schools.They are just wasting money and resources already provided by government.After all, the "mid day meal" and free books,uniform,scholarships to all passed students,scholarships for girls etc etc. , is enough for them to learn life not ABC.

I mean , in Delhi atleast,there is enough for the children to go to school and get educated not just literate.

My frank opinion about Teach India is that its a good program but with a "smell of advertising".
These people could have taken up the task of mass admissions to schools or something like aiding already running schools.
But this is not the case,which makes me a bit itchy,but does not take my support from it.

And I appeal to all people going for teach India that dont just teach them to read and write but make them join a school.

Getting high is Reason for existence of our world....

getting High is universalPeople being high is not just caused by drinks and drugs,but high is caused by everything good that happens to you.No you got it wrong, I am not equating happiness to getting high,remember the last time you got a new dress or new watch, just give it thought about things that hapened around the incident and I bet that you will not remember anything except the smell and color of the dress.Ok,now remember something big like selection in a competitive exam,new bike,latest cellphone or something even bigger and try to remember about the clothes that you worn,people you met,weatheror some other detail of that day.I am sure that you will be clueless about that,just similar to the hang over of a wild D.P. at the hostel or some rave.and everything you do gives you a high ,and you will wonder but even pain puts you on another level of high,remeber the time you had some twist of leg or some accident I am sure you will be clueless about anything that is not pain.and this you would have heard many times,Love and cosiness also puts you on a high,I will not elabotrate on this much.And,after every orgasm,you wll feel high of a lifetime,which is the reason of people loving sex so much.
Even power,money,fame has a high of its own,which is different from being happy.
Also,it is a universal truth that every thing that causes high causes addiction .
So, the conclusion is that every thing that happens to you has a narco-effect on you and your life.And that's why every thing we do is because of addiction to this high.This addiction is the reason for everything that happens in world.So addiction is not any bad thing but the reason for existence of this world.

Neck tie - a sign of slavery

As if I care ;-) just joking....
So here I am again with my rebellious side,as you all know that we are being dominated by western culture and trends.Like live-in relations ,sci-fi movies,Malls(ya you are right I am frustated) etc etc.
But one tradition that is a perfect sign of our slavery to west is a Tie ,I am not saying that its wrong to wear a tie I am saying that people's attitude towards tie's is what potrays salvery.
I mean why people prefer tie with a shirt at an official affair rather than a "kurta",why tie wearing people are considered smart and "well-groomed" and a kurta potrays him as "what an oldie" or in some rude cases "ganwar" .
There is no official place,party(except garba nights),pubs where you have dress code of ethnic wear.No formal occassions except weddings see ethnic wear, in that too, many grooms prefer 3-piece rather than a sherwani and even guest's follow the trend.
This attitude of our's towards our own culture is what is the most pathetic, we look upon a culture of west over our own.

Relationships

Relationship is like a parternership with your gf.You may have to compromise on stuff also she will also have to.In a relationship you always see your partner as a source of comfort,peace,support and satistfaction.If you dont get that you will get frustated and dejected you will fall into useless discussions and end up in nothing.At this point your relationship is in a bit of trouble and you"need to talk"(to sort out not to break up).
Another problem arises when there is no expectations at all,some people believe in only giving and not expecting anything in back.Well in this case you might think that this is ideal case for love but,mind you it is easy to lose your identity in this case.You either follow the person blindly or simply lose youself.At this point she may like you the most but sooner or later you will start hating yourself.And you will start getting egoist and self proclaiming(speaking of youself only).
This is the worst condition.
So you need to strike a balance between you expectations and your submissions,
whole harmony of a relationship is dependent on this balance only.

Top notch Engineering colleges

People aspiring for IIT,DCE,NSIT,NIT etc. must read this .
you must be thinking that these colleges are the best,excellent placements etc.
yes they are and placements is also truth of nature,but if you be at these places you will know how the social life in these colleges work.
There are broadly 4 kinds of boys(girls are hard to find) in an engineering college(specifically)-
1.cool dudes-These people are most in numbers,ordinary silent behaviour,talking about games,football,movies and stuff similar to these.Average in studies,listens to teachers and try to obey.Mostly dont drink.
2.Metrosexuals-less in number,wearing 'Levis's',latest haircut and gelled,talk about cars and girls.These people are mainly seen with girls.And some of them may look like "gay" to you,with red shoes and pink kurti.They drink only at fests etc.
3.Rockers-have signature "goti"(beard that Amir wore in DCH) and mostly black T-shirts and canverse shoes,get a haircut twice a year,seen with i-pods or guitars.Seen head banging mostly and couple great with another rare species called rappers(they hide themselves).Drinkers and at rock fest see them near speaker moshing hard.They also enjoy marijuana(weed,ganja) etc.
4.Ghissues-mostly found at first bench,dress formally and sometimes weirdly.Talk only about future MBA,GRE,MS,Projects etc.If you want notes these are the best people to find.Some of them have good impact on girl community.These have hidden talents that show up at fests only.
These people also in some cases harm class unity.

getting Exploited in shopping malls

Well as you all know that in Delhi and other metro cities there is huge outburst of malls our favourite hangouts and great place to be.
But if you give it a thought some malls and their management exploit your money and time.
MRP war-It has been a big fight over MRP tag with court but still some shops you find "coke with glasses" and 5 rs higher than the MRP. You ask for bill, it will be a nearly fake bill with no batch number,nothing to indicate their fraud.
Parking-some malls force you to park your vehicles at higher rate than the Muinicipal rate at that place.They charge you 40 bugs for parking only,mean if you are student awhole days pocket money on just a visit to the place(including fuel).So why is there no standardisation just like petrol prices or atleast some area wise rate.
Quantity and quality-Again speaking of foodcourts ,I mean how cheap these people can get.You go to "Green woks" or something like that, if you order a pasta worth 70 bugs you will get 10 pieces of spiral pasta and 3 pieces of vegies(that too if you have added them as topping),and else is water.So you see yourself in mirror fooled.Similar is the case with many shops in foodcourts,even in CCD if you order their combo with cold coffee you will get a pattie kind of thing that is even worse than the ones sold by hawkers.So you get fooled in terms of both quality and quantity at these places.
This is even worse than robbery,you get robbed with a smile and "Thank you sir".
Security policies-Some malls have strange security procedures,they check your wallet,pat on your cheeks at the back,the reason is security check.They check for any eatables that can even scarcely fit you pocket.Security gaurds can see what's in your wallet or back pocket be it money,credit card and even a condom.There is no importance to your privacy.
Ok some people might accept this,but in East End mall Kaushambi(wave wala),you can not take your bags inside the mall and if you are on a two wheeler and carrying a helmet then go back home and come in car.I mean what kind of a rule is that you can not take your own belongings inside the mall(not theatre but the mall).

So people we need a revolution against this huge consumer reaction is needed .But in this country it is easy to raise voice against SEZ,Nuclear deal but not consumer rights.
If anyone finds himself robbed or cheated or humiliated dont abuse just call consumer forum
